Named in Honor of James Edward MacFarland

July 7, 1931-July 14, 2014

James entered the U.S. Navy November 1, 1952 where he served for 3 years. During his service he was appointed to Medal Smith Second Class while aboard the USS Salem (CA 139). He also received the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupational Service Medal. After serving he became the father of 4 children and worked for the Folz Vending Company as a candy distributor (the bubblegum man) through the mid 1980's and later went to work for Prudential Insurance Company as a mail courier.

James was an active member of his local VFW, Knights of Columbus and his church, and put flags on the graves of service men and women twice a year and also raised money for wounded soldiers annually with different charitable events like bake sales or whatever he was able to do. MacFarland was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather until God called him home July 14, 2014.
